Brockport man charged for bringing marijuana into jail

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office charged a Brockport man with bringing marijuana into jail. 

29-year-old Barry R. Robinson is charged with promoting prison contraband and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Sheriff's deputies say Robinson had six bags of marijuana that appeared to be packaged for sale in his sock and underwear. Robinson had been previously arrested and was being arraigned for an unrelated DWI charge in the City of Batavia.

Robinson is due back in court on Tuesday.

Brockport Police Blotter: January 30 - February 5

February 4th, 2012:
Brockport Police are investigating an assault that took place in the area of Queen Street and Clinton Street.  The male victim was assaulted by as many as four males and sustained severe injuries.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Brockport Police Department, 637-1020.

A Main Street resident reports that during a party at their residence, an unknown individual through an object through the front window of the house.  As a result a large fight ensued and an individual was assaulted and another menaced with a knife.  The Brockport Police are still investigating.

February 4th, 2012:
A Clinton Street resident reports sometime between February 3rd and 4th, an unknown individual stole property from her unlocked motor vehicle.

Police searching for group of men who attacked another man in Brockport

Police in Brockport need your help finding a group of men who brutally attacked another man.

Police say the victim suffered serious injuries after being assaulted by four men on Queen Street and Clinton Street.

If you have any information, you are asked to call Brockport Police at 637-1020.

Spencerport man arrested for stealing snowboards from Bristol Mountain

Police in Ontario County have arrested a Spencerport man for petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after he allegedly stole two snowboards from two different people while at Bristol Mountain.

Joshua Gallina, 21, was found using one of the snowboards at Bristol Mountain by the owner of one of the boards. The incident occurred on January 30.

Gallina was issued several appearance tickets and will answer the charges in the Town of South Bristol Court at a later date.

Former teacher arrested for taking inappropriate photos of students on his cell phone

A former teacher has been arrested for taking inappropriate photos of students on his cell phone.

29-year-old Joshua Weatherall, of Brockport, is charged with unlawful surveillance, eavesdropping, computer trespass and endangering the welfare of a child. Weatherall was a teacher at the Holley Junior/Senior High School.  He has since left his teaching position.

Police say while he was a teacher, Weatherall took inappropriate photos of the students on his cell phone. The arrest was made after a four month investigation by the Holley Police Department that begins in September.

Weatherall was arraigned by Murray Town Court and he was released on $5,000 bond.

Police: Holley man sent threatening texts to ex-girlfriend

A Holley man is facing charges after sheriff’s deputies say he sent threatening text messages.

Brandon Baker is charged with aggravated harassment.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies say Baker sent the threatening texts for his ex-girlfriend.

Baker was later arrested and remanded to the Monroe County Jail.

$295 worth of razors stolen from Wegmans

Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the theft of Gillette Razor products from the Wegmans in Brockport.

Deputies say on January 23, approximately $295 worth of merchandise was stolen.
