Young daughters of Army Capt. Kevin Clark lay roses on his casket

Young daughters of Army Capt. Kevin Clark lay roses on his casket

On Tuesday, the Army buried Captain Kevin Clark who died in Afghanistan last week. In a touching moment -- his two little daughters laid roses on his casket.

Captain Clark was born in Michigan but he was laid to rest in his wife's hometown of Spencerport. Clark lived in Spencerport for several years before he enlisted in the army.

It was so quiet downtown, you could hear the roll of the drum that led Clark's hearse to St. Mary's Church.

To the tune of the army song "Caisson," the Army honor guard carried Captain Clark into the church.

"We just try to honor that (patriotism) by playing the music that that family knows best," Daria Bour said, leader of the Gates Keystone Pipes & Drums Band.

After the mass -- Clark's casket was carried back to the hearse. The procession left downtown to the veteran's cemetery in Spencerport.

At the cemetery -- the tradition continued.

The honor guard folded the flag from Clark's casket.

County Judge Frank Geraci nominated for federal judgeship

Geraci has been a county court judge for more than 13 years. He served a city court judge before that. Geraci is a McQuaid graduate, and once worked as an assistant district attorney.

President Obama calls Geraci highly qualified, and a valuable addition to the U.S. District Court in Western New York.

Geraci was recommended by Senator Chuck Schumer, whose nominee last year, former D.A. Mike Green, was never confirmed.
