New Glacier Ridge Snow Tubing opens on Ridge Road

Local soccer star Doug Miller is expanding his family sports park in Parma. Glacier Ridge Snow Tubing will now be available along with soccer and golf.

The Doug Miller Family Sports Park dome is a well know landmark on the county's west side. Now it has some competition right next to it -- a man-made mountain for snow tubing.

Owner Doug Miller says he got the idea for Glacier Ridge Snow Tubing after buying the 31-acre property more than two years ago while commuting to Buffalo to play professional soccer. “I drove every day from 1996 to 2001 when I was playing for the Blizzards. We saw Polar Wave and we knew we had the land and that this was an option. There's no other snow tubing in Rochester.”

Miller has indoor and outdoor soccer fields and will eventually expand to six fields. Glacier Ridge is an extension of his business plan.

The slides stretch 1,000 feet with a 65-foot drop.
