The Brockport Central School family and community are mourning the loss of long-time teacher and coach, Greg Pelletier. He passed away Wednesday after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. Pelletier was 39 years old and coached the Brockport Varsity Football team through the 2011 season.

News10NBC spoke with some of his football players this morning.

Senior Marcell Collins says it's a tough day, but Coach Pelletier would want him to smile.

"He taught me that smiling is the first thing you can do in a day to make it that much better," said Collins.

Pelletier led the blue devils football team to the Section Five Semifinals last fall.

Junior Frankie Marcera, Jr. Says Pelletier taught him to face every challenge head-on.

Marcera said, "Just like him. He was outside on the football field on his golf cart, rolling around. He couldn't walk, but he was there. He was dedicated. Teaches all of us to be dedicated."
